Nigerians Are Disappointed With NASS For Confirming Sacked Service Chiefs As Ambassadors- Wike
Governor Wike of Rivers State has expressed his disappointment over the confirmation of the immediate past Service Chiefs by the Senate for another National assignment as non Career Ambassadors.
Wike, while reacting to the appointment of the just sacked Service Chiefs through his social media page, said he was disappointed by the actions of the Senate who supported the call to sack them for incompetence still went ahead to confirm same set of persons for another National Job.
“You Senators sat and discuss that they should dismiss the Service Chiefs for not performing, now the same people who were not performing, you have confirmed them as Ambassadors. What kind of Country are we,” he said.
Wike said he was not saying this as an opposition to the party at the center but as a concern individual who felt what happened is unimaginable.
“I wonder why Senators who agreed with Nigerians when they decried the poor performance of the Service Chiefs will still sit to confirm them for another appointment”
There were calls from different quarters for the sack of the immediate past Service Chiefs for their inability to restructure Nigeria security architecture and put an end to the activities of insurgency and banditry ravaging all parts of the Country.
Boko Haram insurgency in the North, unending banditry across the Country, hence the reasons for the Senate move to sack the service Chiefs who were later confirmed for another sensitive National assignment by same Senate.
